Accessibility statement
CatMail is built to be usable with a keyboard, readable at small sizes, and calm for people who prefer reduced motion. We are not finished; this page records the current state honestly.
- Target: WCAG 2.2 AA for the public site, webmail, settings, and admin surfaces.
- Current strengths: visible keyboard focus, language switcher, reduced-motion support, semantic form controls, and no advertising trackers.
- Known gaps: deeper screen-reader polish in webmail, especially unread state, message-pane focus, new-mail announcements, and third-party message HTML.
- If something blocks you, write to support@catmail.ltd. Include the page, what you were trying to do, your browser, and any assistive technology you use.
What works now
The site has a solid focus indicator, keyboard-accessible links and buttons, reduced-motion handling for page transitions and animations, self-hosted fonts, and plain text alternatives for important controls. The help widget and core forms are designed to work without pointer-only gestures.
Known gaps
The webmail experience still needs a dedicated screen-reader pass. Unread messages rely too much on visual styling, the message pane needs more deliberate focus movement, new-mail updates need better live-region behavior, and HTML emails can contain third-party heading structures that we must frame more clearly.
Contact
Accessibility barriers should go to support@catmail.ltd. We read these as product defects, not as generic support chatter, and we prioritize fixes that block account access, mail reading, recovery, or security settings.
